Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance psychological and financial stability in economically vulnerable people by providing furniture and household goods for their homes free of charge.

How your furniture makes a difference

When you donate furniture to Idaho Furniture Project, you’re doing more than giving away a couch or table—you’re giving someone dignity, comfort, and a fresh start.

We carefully match every donated piece with an individual or family in need, ensuring it finds a meaningful new home. Whether it’s a single parent coming out of a domestic abuse situation, a refugee family new to Idaho building from scratch, or a family moving out of a shelter and into permanent housing, your donation transforms empty spaces into places of healing and hope.

Thanks to your generosity, we offer:

  • Free pick-up for donors (making the donation process easy)
  • Free delivery to recipients (knowing that many don’t have the vehicles or resources needed to transport furniture items on their own.
  • No-cost furnishing for those who need it most

Your furniture was chosen with care—now it can continue to serve with purpose.

Give a little. Change a lot.

When people live in furnished, intentional spaces, it changes how they see themselves—and how they show up in the world. You can change someone’s life by giving your furniture a second chance.

Idaho Furniture Project, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, offers free pickup from generous donors and free delivery to those in need, ensuring a quality experience. We are not a drop-off center and only accept clean, structurally sound, furniture that is ready for a second life.

To see if your furniture donation qualifies, text pictures of the furniture you wish to donate to 208-789-0751 or fill out our donation form.

If your furniture is a match, we’ll pick it up, give you a tax-deductible receipt, and bring it to someone who’s ready to rebuild—with dignity and comfort.

What is furniture poverty?

Furniture poverty happens when someone doesn’t have access to the basic items that turn empty housing into a real home—a bed to sleep on, a table to gather around, or a couch to rest on.

Without a bed, children sleep on piles of clothes.
Without a table, families eat meals sitting on boxes or the floor.
Without furniture, even safe housing can feel cold, temporary, and incomplete.

The impact goes far beyond discomfort.
Living without essential furniture can seriously affect physical health, emotional well-being, and financial stability. For many, it creates a cycle that makes it harder to rebuild after a crisis.

At Idaho Furniture Project, we believe no one should have to live like this—especially in a state known for its generosity and strong sense of community.
Your donation helps break that cycle and brings dignity home.
